As the pipeline of new prescription drug offerings continues to evolve, employers need to adapt their benefit design and cost control strategies.
Rick Kelly, senior vice president of employee health and benefits at Marsh McLennan Agency, recently spoke with the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) about how employers can manage and budget for the impact of these new drugs, how they should consider the cost, and more.
"To provide some context for these numbers, consider that if the price of gasoline increased as fast as that of prescription drugs over the last 10 years, it would now cost $11 a gallon," said Rick.
