As adoption rates of individual and commercial electric vehicles (EVs) continue to rise, it’s essential to consider their safety, health, and environmental consequences. It is also vital to consider precautions that can be taken to prevent their potential impact.
Marsh McLennan Agency’s national automotive practice leader, Lydia Zaharia, was quoted in Leader’s Edge on the environmental concerns associated with EVs and the considerations brokers should consider when evaluating policies.
“Actuaries are trying to determine where to get this information to figure out the risks,” says Lydia. “It’s too early to project how the market will react, but we’re already seeing higher-dollar, more frequent losses impacting the industry.”
